Deli Mustard, that is. Susan and I discovered this brand of coarsely ground mustard a few years ago, and we took to it immediately. Yellow Mustard, most often French’s brand, all but disappeared from our diet because Beaver Deli Mustard was so yummy. It’s made by Beaverton Foods, Inc.
When the COVID Apocalypse began, Beaver mustard disappeared from the shelves of the HEB Central Market. Other food brands that we considered staples did too – Patak’s Vindaloo Paste, Talk O’ Texas Pickled Okra, Mom’s Pasta Sauce, and a few others. Randall’s food market was an alternative source for some of these products, but soon they disappeared from those shelves as well.
We have resorted to ordering all of these products from Amazon. I do not know how much of this loss of product selection is a primary or perhaps secondary effect of the pandemic. All that I know is that Jeff Bezos is all the richer for it.
