We watched the last 1.5hrs of the Academy Awards this evening; most years, we don’t even bother. The highlight of the viewing was when Chris Rock issued a slight to Jada Pinkett Smith referring to her as GI Jane 2 – poking fun at Pinkett Smith’s struggle with alopecia – an autoimmune condition that also affects Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley. For what little it matters, I was delighted by the depiction of Wakanda’s warriors as powerful bald women in Marvel’s Black Panther. I suppose that I have an affinity for characters that are much “not like me.” I found General Okoye (Danai Gurira) and her warriors in Black Panther both powerful and hot.

In any case, Will Smith walked up on the stage and bitch-slapped Rock after his stupid attempt at a joke. Good for Will; he stood up for the woman he loves. I admire that kind of chivalry and family loyalty. This is what distinguishes the Will Smiths among us from limp dicks like Ted Cruz who answer an insult toward their partner by donning kneepads and a bib in order to properly service a worm like Donald Trump. Cowardice meet Chivalry.

Heidi, you should have kicked that crude smegma that pretends to be your partner to the curb when he humiliated you. I suppose that, as my colleague Linda says, “In marriage, you get what you will put up with.”
