It’s a comedy, of course, but back in the mid-2000s, I recall reading the original report of transient, post-coital blindness. The patient was a male taking a PDE-5 Inhibitor, Viagra, I believe. If I recall the story correctly, he experienced transient blindness on several occasions before he reported it to his physician.
He was experiencing Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (ION). I found it just a bit humorous that he did not report it to his doctor until he had experienced it several times. Me, I would have found transient blindness terrifying unless perhaps I interpreted it as an attribute of fantastic sex. Perhaps that’s what happened with that fellow.
