M12 is a globular cluster in the constellation Ophiuchus (the Serpent bearer). It is thought to be a loosely packed globular. In a small astrograph like the 130mm instrument, it appears rather faint; still, it is still possible to resolve some of the stars in the cluster. These images are from a composite of 11, 6-minute frames taken last night (05/26/22).

I’ve been photographing these objects through a quad-band filter although the filter is actually meant for emission nebulae. Doing astrophotography near downtown Austin requires some photographic compromises in order to cope with the light pollution.
