Vladimir Putin has the likes of Oleg Deripaska, while Donald Trump has Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. There are other oligarchs in both Russia and the US, of course. Why Musk and Zuckerberg would willingly fellate Trump is beyond my comprehension. Trump is a feckless loser whose net worth would only qualify him to clean Musk’s or Zuckerberg’s swimming pools. So, why prostrate themselves before the Orange Moron? I suppose that the answer lies in obligating America’s chief executive to them. What else could it be? If you buy the Supreme Court, it has to be because you can never have too much justice on your side; the same goes for Congress and the Executive.
Today’s announcement that FB and Instagram are reinstating Trump’s accounts despite Trump’s recent behavior on his own pet social media platform, Truth Social, suggests that Meta, like Twitter, will permit Trump to spread disinformation, lies, hate, and insurrection on its platforms. They will, once again, like FOX News, become propaganda machines for his most Grotesque and Heinous Orangeness.
I do not know whether wealth or money are truly the root of all evil, but I am convinced that, in America, Greed certainly is.
