This afternoon was devoted to re-checking our taxes. In doing so, I discovered an IRA distribution that I had failed to enter into the tax software (TurboTax). I consider this exercise as akin to proofreading a term paper before turning it in; I would rather catch and fix the errors than have the prof do it for me and then administer a penalty for my inattention to detail. You most likely do the same thing.

The remainder of the afternoon was devoted to cooking mud bugs and a few blue crabs to share with friends from my computing days some 50+ years ago. We’ve been getting together by Zoom or Facebook or in the flesh several times a year since before and through the pandemic. We consider these friends part of our pandemic pod. We have a few other couples with whom we socialize – clinical types for the most part.

This evening’s bug fest looked like this.
