Perhaps you spent some of your afternoon or evening hours watching/listening to Donald Trump’s unfolding legal woes; I did. I experienced a certain warm, happy feeling when I heard that he was being charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying records. Later, as the DA held his press conference, I felt even better. The enjoyment of the misfortune of others is called schadenfreude – a portmanteau of the German words schade (pity), and freude (happy).
My appetite is improving. I took my last dose of antibiotics last night. So, I asked Susan to order a small menudo and a side of guacamole from El Jacalito this evening; she ordered a chile relleno for herself. I figured that schadenfruede is a dish best served with menudo and guac.
