Like me, you most likely remember how in early 2020, during the first swelling wave of COVID-19, roving bands of marauding Karens swept through grocery store aisles emptying shelves of toilet paper. I went to the store seeking the comfort of soft Charmin to wipe my ass only to discover that the best I could do was snag a roll of Brawny. Many of us longed for the days of our childhood when we could count on Whites, Western Auto, and Sears to send us catalogs whose pages, in a pinch, we could repurpose for bathroom use.

It was in that great toilet paper crisis that my attention turned to bidet attachments for modern toilets. After some cursory study, I settled on a Pure Clean bidet attachment from Amazon. It arrived in short order, and I spent perhaps half an hour trying to get it installed. I did finally succeed, but the sucker leaked. Merde!

I returned the flawed product to Amazon requesting a replacement. The second unit arrived 24 hours later, and I installed it swiftly. It worked perfectly for about four years. Now, at a cost of $30+, it easily saved us several times the annual cost of ~$8. A few days ago, our Pure Clean unit began to leak – not from the water lines but from the control unit. I decided to order a replacement.

Pure Clean no longer exists as a product in Amazon’s menu. I did find an alternative that looked very similar, used the same waterline fixtures, and was in the same price range – $40. It arrived a couple of days ago, and I installed it yesterday evening. This unit is a Greenco Fresh Water Bidet. I saw the name and immediately wondered whether they have a Saltwater Bidet for my friends who live on the Texas Gulf Coast.

The Greenco uses a continuous flow regulating valve – something similar to the washer-less valves in modern sink faucet fixtures, I think. The Pure Clean unit had a ratcheted flow control – noisy and hard to turn off. The new unit also has a sprayer angle adjustment on the control panel – for those who want exact stream targeting.

Here’s the package photo.

I like this new unit and give it a 5/5 rating – for your consideration.
