I’ve been a bit distracted this week what with getting the Roomba vacuum set up and cleaning up the place. And then there is the Braava jet wet mop to carry from room to room to get the hard surfaces cleaned. We are still working on decluttering, of course.

We decided today that we weren’t going to attend either the Barbie movie or Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer biopic. We see such flicks at the Alamo Drafthouse with a glass of wine or a beer, but all the showings for both movies are sold out for at least a week. Sigh.

I had wanted to see the Barbie movie because we saw a trailer for it, and it looked interesting – mixing Barbie’s fantasy world with a fantasy musical world that is supposed to be our own reality. I don’t know about you, but my life, interesting as it has been, has never been a Bollywood musical. It’s been more like The Last of Us or perhaps The Walking Dead.

Then there is the whole PG-13 aspect to the Barbie movie.

Me: “What’s the PG-13 rating for Barbie all about? Is there a scene with Barbie’s peri-orgasmic utterances/noises emanating from her bedroom?”

Susan: “I don’t know, but it is probably some kind of sexual innuendo.”

I read today that the Faux Gnus network has its bowels in an uproar because the movie is too woke regarding sexual/gender issues. I appreciate a naughty movie as much as the next guy; so, I’m up for seeing Barbie doing the nasty. But, for now, I will have to settle for watching the last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Willow getting it on with Kennedy. I think both of the actresses are very attractive and well … hot. We’ll have to wait for the crowds to thin out before we can attend the Barbie movie. If you see it, let me know what you thought of it.
