Whatever meaning you give it; it applies to Trump. It might mean the quintessence of all things absurd or perhaps the absurd reaching a state of divine perfection. They apply equally to The Most Orange Horrificus.

Beginning with his pre-election debates and during his four-year reign of insanity, I referred to his aimless diatribes as word salad – suggesting that some unspoken yet underlying psychopathology was the basis of his political rally diatribes. Later, after seeing him attack individuals and groups as if they were objects to be exploited in his boardgame of self-dealing real-estate (Trumpopoly), proposed that he was a sociopath (aka psychopath – someone empty of empathy, charming but malignant). My friend Dana Parish/Evans (RIP Dana) and others suggested that he was a Malignant Narcissist.

Let me say at this point that I am not a psychiatrist, but like most PCPs, I have seen my share of folks who had diagnosable personality disorders, affective disorders, thought disorders, and dementias. These different disorders form a complex Venn diagram, and one can have more than one of them. That is, people with lifelong personality disorders such as sociopathy can go on to develop dementia as they age – Fronto-Temporal Dementia (FTD), Alzheimer’s Disease, Lewy Body Dementia, and so forth.

In the past few months, as Trump has become ensnared in indictments arising from his misbehaviors and misdeeds while in office (and also in earlier decades), his tirades have become only more megalomaniacal, incoherent, and bizarre. He has always shown a tendency for paraphasia (ex: oranges for origins), but more recently his speeches are more meandering and incoherent. His speeches have become peppered with messianic ideation – (ex: I am your retribution), and ideas of reference (ex: They aren’t doing this to me; they are doing it to you.)

So, to everyone who thinks that an avuncular gaff machine like Joe Biden is too old for a second term in the White House, all I can say is that Uncle Joe has always been a gaff machine; he’s no worse today than when he was a Senator. And unlike Trump, Biden isn’t a malignant psychopath with delusions of grandeur – a joke of a man, a Loser, who is falling toward his imagined Apotheosis.
