I’ve had a special affection for cacti and succulents since before I returned to the university to study the life sciences while contemplating a career change after finishing graduate school in Computer Science. These days, I grow a few of these beautiful plants which I consider master classes in geometric elegance.

Here is an Echeverria, a succent genus with many species that grow abundantly in Central and South America. This one sits on the front deck around our conversation area.

Below is a Kalanchoe Desert Rose that is easy to propagate. This particular container also hosts a fern. The two species seem to get along well together.
