Well, debate dinner porn, actually. Dinner, before the event was a baked potato, a grilled medium-rare, boneless ribeye, and a salad of greens and figs.

The salad, in particular, was a culinary orgasm – a bed of mixed greens topped with arugula (I so enjoy its peppery bite), quartered figs, and lavender honey goat’s cheese. The salad dressing was Persian Lime Olive oil and Bordeaux Cherry Balsamic vinegar (both from the Olive Tap in Colorado Springs). Yum!

I had consumed almost the last of our Serrano peppers, and I bought a new can at the Fiesta Mart yesterday. So, today I had not only a lovely Serrano but also some spicy pickled carrot slices – a humble escabeche.

I hope that your dinner or debate viewing snack was equally satisfying.
