I haven’t taken any solar images the last few days because of cloud cover. Later this afternoon, there were large clear patches that allowed some good solar imaging.

With the solar rig tuned to highlight the prominences and filaments, the sun looked like this.

There are interesting prominences on the Eastern and Southeastern limbs (left and lower left rim) as well as on the Western and Northwestern limbs (right and upper right rim). They are emphasized below.

Tuning the rig to emphasize the active regions, the solar disk looked like this. It’s a bit darker than the usual tuning that I use for sunspots.

The newest active regions, AR3836, AR3835, and AR3834 are in the Southeastern quadrant of the sun’s disk. They appear as dark spots on the left edge, lower middle, and right edge of the frame in the cropped image below.
