Today, the sky was totally clear. The solar disk, prominences, and active regions looked like this.

The major prominences were those along the northeastern, eastern, and southern limbs. They are highlighted below.

A new sunspot group, AR3839, is emerging from the sun’s eastern limb. The groups at the western limb are AR3828 and AR3827. The remaining groups, seen in the cropped image below, are spread across the sun’s southern hemisphere.
