Today’s images were made with the hydrogen alpha solar telescope. The comparison images below show the prominences, filaments, and some sunspot regions.

In the image below there are very active prominences along the western, eastern, and southeastern limbs.

In the sunspot cameo, we see that groups AR3849 and AR3850, near the western limb, are about to disappear to the far side of the sun. AR3848 whose flares and mass ejections caused the radio blackouts and intense auroras the past week is no longer visible. New unnamed sunspot groups are emerging in the east.
