Today’s solar disk comparison images appear below. The H-alpha image on the left shows intricately twisted filaments and plages. There are a few arcuate prominences on the northeastern and southeastern solar limbs.

The images below emphasize the prominences along the eastern rim

The annotated sunspot cameo below shows some active regions that were not evident in yesterday’s images. The tuning of the etalons and filters brings out some features while making others more difficult to see. In the case of these sunspots, it is mostly a matter of contrast between particular sunspots and the surrounding solar photosphere.
