The cold front from Winter Storm Blair arrived last night. This morning it was 29F, but with clear skies, the sun soon made it a toasty 45F. In today’s H-alpha solar disk image, we see multiple large filaments and prominences along the southwestern solar limb. There is also some activity along the southeastern limb.

In the image below, some of the older active regions have disappeared to the sun’s far side. According to NASA, AR3947 has been the most active area for producing solar flares in the past 24h.

The two cameos of today’s prominences appear below.
