With pristine skies above, today was perfect for a solar photoshoot. Below, the solar disk in H-alpha shows numerous loop prominences that are highlighted at the bottom of this page, and many delicate filaments and bright plages around the active regions.
The sunspot image shows new active regions AR3965 and AR3967 as well as stable sunspot groups seen in images from the past few days.
The galleries below show some dramatic loop prominences high above the sun’s chromosphere.
