After a 2-day long winter storm and a light dusting of snow and sleet, the solar imaging endeavor is back. Today’s images are based on 30-second AVI movies. The reduction in recording duration is based on the idea that sometimes less is more. The solar H-alpha image below shows the active regions and their plages and a few filaments and prominences.

There are a few prominences today, but they are relatively modest compared to those we saw last week. The main ones are showcased in the gallery below.
