Today was another partly cloudy day with sufficient clear spaces for solar imaging. The H-alpha image today gets additional annotations to point out active regions that don’t show up well in the sunspot image. There is a lot of prominence activity along the NE, SE, W and NW solar limbs.

The sunspot image shows that AR3978 rotated to the sun’s far side with AR3976 in close pursuit. New active regions appear in the southern hemisphere but are washed out in the image below.
