Today’s H-alpha solar disk shows the same dramatic E-SE limb prominence that we saw yesterday, and a new loop prominence along the NE limb. There has been intense solar flare activity near the NW limb the last couple of days, but the plasma ejected in those events was not directed toward Earth. The corresponding prominence activity there is minimal.

In the sunspot image below, active region 3993 has disappeared to the far side of the sun. Like yesterday, regions AR4002 and 4005 are not visible in this image.
