Today’s H-alpha solar image shows persistent prominence activity along the eastern solar limb and new, intense activity along the western limb.

The sunspot image now shows only five active regions as AR3998 has disappeared from the western limb as it has rotated to the sun’s far side. If you have difficulty seeing AR4002, all I can say is that so do I!

Today’s major prominence activity is shown in the gallery below. The arrow in the first frame points to a faint plasma plume high above the chromosphere.
