In ancient Chinese philosophy and later, in modern physics, Yin-Yang is the notion that duality is part of the fabric of reality – light and dark, gentle and strong, female and male, etc. The Yin is typically characterized as the feminine principle, and the Yang as masculine. The common visual rendering is a circle whose interior is a white figure and a black one surrounding one another, and each containing in their “eye” the color of their opposite.

Yesterday, in the morning, I saw Kedi and Maia sleeping together in this pose. It reminded me of the Yin-Yang although they are sisters, and are more properly regarded as Yin-Yin, I suppose.
