No-spoiler review.
The Architect is gone – replaced by The Analyst played by Neil Patrick Harris. The Merovingian is back, but he looks a bit the wild man akin to the Train Man in The Matrix Reloaded. Sati is all grown up. The relationship between people and the machines has changed a bit, and so has the relationship between Neo and Agent Smith. The White Rabbit is back.
I found the storyline a bit disjointed, and the interlacing of scenes from the prior movies and this one, make it more confusing still. But what the hell? It’s The Matrix, after all, and things don’t always make sense in the Matrix.
I enjoyed the action, but I must confess that I think I missed much of the story nuance. I definitely have to watch this one again. It earned a tomatometer score of 70, by the way. 😉
