Below, today’s H-alpha solar image shows loop prominences along the NW solar limb, small prominence activity along the NE limb, and smaller prominences along the SE limb. There are bright plages around the active regions, and there are some serpiginous filaments as well.

Today’s annotated sunspot image shows eight active regions today. AR4095 has rotated out of view to the sun’s far side, and a new sunspot group, AR4098, has formed above AR4090.
