Today’s H-alpha image shows extensive prominence activity along much of sun’s eastern and western limbs.

The sunspot image shows eight active regions – two of which have emerged since yesterday. Regions 4227 and 4228, still seen on NASA’s image are too faint to see well in my image.

AR4234 which would lie just south and east of AR4230 formed and then disappeared after a large flare yesterday. Active regions don’t get designations unless they persist for >24h. So, I can easily miss one because of weather, not having time to record the sun, or because a region formed and disappeared within slightly more than 24h before I could get to it. Alas!
