Below, today’s H-alpha image shows ten active regions and some prominences along the NW, W, and SE solar limbs.

The corresponding sunspot image shows only eight of the active regions. The three regions near the western solar horizon are represented in the H-alpha image by their bright plages. They are not visible in the sunspot image.

The main prominences are showcased in the gallery below. The NW prominences are delicate arches; those along the western limb are blotchy, revealing little structural detail.
