The sky was cloudy today, but I still tried to capture some data through the thinnest part of the cloud cover. Today’s H-alpha image shows plages and/or sunspots identifying all of the active regions seen in the NASA image. The main prominences are located along the sun’s ESE and SSW limbs.

The sunspot image shows only AR4334 and AR4336 clearly. The labels for the remaining active regions are copied from the H-alpha image.

Today’s major prominences appear below. The ESE limb prominence is a tall plume of sun stuff high above the chromosphere.
