Today’s H-alpha image shows all eight of the active regions shown on NASA’s SDO image – each represented by sunspots, plages, or both. In particular, AR4340 is represented solely by its associated plage. The spot itself is not visible here or in the sunspot image.
Most of yesterday’s dramatic SW prominence activity has subsided or rotated beyond view.

The wider-band sunspot image is shown below.

Today’s cameos are the small prominences along the W limb, and some delicate, hair-like spicules along the NE limb.
