Today’s H-alpha image shows all eight of the active regions seen on the NASA SDO image. AR4358 is represented only by the easternmost tip of its bright plage. There is ongoing prominence activity along the NW, SW, and NE solar limbs. Along the SE limb, there is a thin prominence with its associated filament stretching to the northwest along the solar disk best appreciated in its cameo of today’s prominences.

In the corresponding sunspot image, AR4358’s sunspot has passed to the sun’s far side.

The eastern limb prominences appear below. The SE prominence is a thin jet of sun stuff seen with its associated filament stretching to the northwest from the rim.

Below, the western limb prominences show large streamers of sun stuff high above the chromosphere.
