TEPHI (wastewater) Data
- Norovirus and Rotavirus levels are both up. These viruses cause severe GI illness – particularly in children
- Influenza B and Human Metapneumovirus are also increasing.
- Mpox and RSV remain elevated
- SARS Co-V 2 remains low
Measles
- The CDC has now recorded >1100 cases – half as many in three months as all of last year
- 92% were among unvaccinated patients; 4% were among patients who had had only one dose of MMR
- The US will be losing its Measles “disease-free” status due to this sustained transmission of the virus
COVID
- Both test positivity and ER visits for COVID are down
- COVID hospitalizations and deaths are down as well
Influenza
- Case number have plateaued
- More of the cases are now Flu B Victoria strain rather than Flu A
- COVID mortality is now about the same as Flu mortality – largely a result of natural and vaccination immunity
Recent Studies
- A recent UK study of the GRAIL (Galleri) screening blood test for cancer showed no advantage to using this test over simply following the recommended cancer screening tests
- m-RNA research, stymied by the RFK-Trump regime, and responsible for developing an effective COVID vaccine, cost $500M. By comparison, hospital costs for COVID patients in one year was $22B.
- A recent (small) study of human cognition concluded that people who like to watch birds have slower cognitive decline than those who do not
