Hantavirus
- The cruise ship hantavirus saga continues
- 17 Americans and one UK citizen living in the US are in the CDC Nebraska bio-containment unit
- The Nebraska facility has 20, single-person isolation units with negative pressure rooms to prevent airborne pathogens from leaving each room
- Seven people left the cruise ship before the hantavirus outbreak was recognized. They too are being monitored
- Two others were potentially exposed on a flight that carried these cruisers home prior to the outbreak
- So far, these latter individuals are all doing fine but being followed for the possible emergence of illness
- The WHO is following these cases as well as others not in the US – emphasizing the braindead Trump regime’s decision to leave the WHO and isolate ourselves
Vaccines
- The FDA and HHS, under the perverse leadership of JFK (Lysenko), Jr has suppressed scientific reports that report on the safety and efficacy of COVID and Shingrix (zoster) vaccines. These actions were based on the administration’s idiosyncratic (bullshit) notions of scientific integrity
- Moderna’s m-RNA Flu vaccine appears to be as effective if not better than the standard Flu vaccine
- HPV vaccine reduces the risk of cervical cancer in women by 80% if vaccinated before age 16 and 66% among those vaccinated after age 16
- Among men, HPV vaccine confers protection against oral, esophageal, penile, and rectal cancers by 50% or more
Measles – We are up to 1842 US cases this year so far
Influenza – There were three more pediatric Flu deaths this past week.
