An MSBC contributor discussing Mitch McConnel’s faux pas regarding the voting engagement of African Americans versus “Americans,” observed that the only non-hyphenated Americans were Whites. As a Mexican American, that resonated with me. There are Asian Americans, Greek and Italian Americans, Jewish Americans, Muslim Americans, Mexican Americans and other nationalities and ethnicities who get hyphenated American status. Hell, even the true, original Americans are given second level status as Native Americans!
I think that Whites need to be put in their proper place, assuming their proper positions – elbows and knees comes to mind. We need to refer to them as Anglo-Americans, German Americans, Franco-Americans, and so forth. If you are going to hyphenate me and mine, I’m fucking going to hyphenate you and yours, Pendejo!
