Here is Dr. Klotman’s COVID pandemic week 97 update.
The virus is showing us yet another of its faces. It’s hardly a surprise, right? Like Influenza, it just keeps mutating, jumping to other species, and making itself a permanent part of the human condition.
I fully expect that, like influenza, it will become endemic – by now, most everyone accepts that. What many don’t realize is that we have Influenza pandemics every few decades. You may remember the 1918 Flu pandemic, another in 1957 and again in 1968 with the Hong Kong Flu, and most recently the H1N1 pandemic of 2009. This is how viruses that mutate behave. I suspect it will be like that with COVID only occurring more or less frequently that Influenza pandemics and possibly with greater mortality and morbidity. So it goes.
I like this depiction of the Olympic Rings logo – probably because I have a cynical streak.
