Our food porn theme tonight was Arthropods and Artichoke. I had planned on a whole Dungeness crab and a boiled artichoke with garlic butter. I had seen the whole crabs at the Central Market the day before the latest spate of cold weather set in. Once the mercury hit below 32F, we (Susan, the cats and I) decided that we could stay home and have whatever was in the pantry. Today, with a heatwave of 37F, I ventured out to the grocery store.

My dreams of Dungeness crab were dashed; all the crabs had been sold. Not to be defeated by a fickle supply chain, I got a couple of Canandian lobster tails. This meal always gets drawn butter for the arthropod, and garlic butter for the artichoke. Tonight, I also included a torn piece of rustic French baguette. Yum. 🙂
