I mentioned the other day that I had eaten a handful of spicy crickets and was thinking about a Lobster dinner. Well, it happened – the lobster dinner, I mean. A picture of that offering appears below.

Tonight, we are having bone marrow on a French baguette followed by tongue taquitos. These days, we often stage our dinners into a couple of phases – eat a little now, and eat a little more later. I prepared the tongue several days ago. We had our first meal of tongue in Pipian the night that I cooked it, then tongue in fideo with peas two nights later, and tonight the taquitos – well that was the plan. Tongue is an ethnic delicacy if you are a descendant of Meso-Americans or ethnic European Jews (I love deli tongue sandwiches.)

Tonight’s food porn picture of marrow appears at the end of this post. We were so full after the marrow, that we put the tongue taquitos off until tomorrow (Monday). I hope that your supper is/was as nourishing and tasty as ours regardless of its ingredients. Buen Provecho!

    1. The tool to the right of the dish is a marrow spoon. One simply scoops the marrow out of the bone and smears it on to the baguette. Marrow is mostly fat; think foie gras or maybe butter. There is a little bit of collagen and connective tissue (protein), but it is mostly yummy fat.

Eating marrow is one of the few wonderful things that I learned from my father. How to curse in Spanish was another. 🙂
