You’ve probably read or heard of “Godwin’s Law.” It is the statement that the longer an online argument goes on, the probability that one side or the other will raise Nazis or Hitler as a comparison will approach 1.0 (certainty). A corollary of this “law” is that whoever first brings up Nazis or Hitler effectively ends the discussion and forfeits the argument. Bring up the Nazis, and you lose the argument, as it were.
I find this conjecture (I really prefer the term Godwin’s Conjecture) very appealing in the context of Russia’s invasion and subsequent savaging of Ukranian citizens. Who the fuck brought up the “denazification of Ukraine?
