As I drove home from the store listening to MSNBC on XM radio this afternoon, a male voice came on extolling the virtues of Prevagen. I’ve posted about this particular potion before. The advertisements are based on testimonials rather than properly designed clinical studies, of course. In the ad, the fellow says that he’s been an avid fly fisherman for over 40 years. I have fished on and off for at least that long, and unlike some of my FB buddies in Arkansas, I don’t catch squat. Okay, the occasional hardhead off the Gulf piers, and maybe a shark or kingfish or red snapper on deep sea fishing tours. I haven’t done that in over a decade.

Still, I had to wonder whether Prevagen, despite any evidence that it improves cognitive performance, might actually improve one’s fishing prowess. I may just have to take some before my next fishing trip. What harm could it do? 🙂
