Nico, Lydia and the girls went off to the Alluvial Fan this morning – this time with the intent of actually going to the fan proper to enjoy the waterfall and its stream. The report is that they had a good time, but I have no photos to share.

Later, we met up at the Grubsteak for lunch. The kids were exhausted having waded into the chilly waters of the stream during their visit to the alluvial fan. We brought them a change of socks and shoes. When one goes hiking, it is always a good idea to pack a set of dry clothes.

The Yak burgers at the Grubsteak were very tasty. The girls had items from the kid’s menu. On the way home, we saw a herd of Elk along the road. We all spent a low-key evening – each pursuing his or her interests and warming up leftovers for dinner. A small group of Mule deer decided to visit as we finished dinner.

I made a fire and watched Jurassic Park movies. Nico made dinner for the girls. Susan decorated some jackets for the grands – adding patches of dinosaurs, spaceships, and the like to them. Lydia played with the kids outside for a while and then did laundry and made other preparations to get everything ready for tomorrow’s departure.
