I’ve seen Mulder the fox in the evenings these past few days. Mulder trots across the front deck and that big bushy tail is visible even at disk. Today, I had a revelation; it seems that Mulder Fox is actually a Vixen. A few minutes after she made her way across the deck, I saw a diminutive fox, a kit, trot across the same path. The kit was maybe 18″ long from the tip of the nose to the tip of its tail.
Foxes are solitary except during mating season and while raising their kits. I had been wondering whether I might not have initially gotten Mulder’s gender wrong.
How wonderful!
