Like many of you, I have been watching the Trump indictments and all the accompanying drama. Unlike some of you who aspire to be better human beings than I am, I have been watching with more than a touch of delight.
My favorite pundits and legal analysts all say that we should be attending these proceedings with a level of solemnity deserving of the seriousness of the assaults our country and society have endured at the hands of vandals like Trump, Giuliani, Eastman and the rest of these traitors. I’m sorry; I’ve already done that. I did it when the treason was committed.
For me, this is not the time to relive that trauma. It is time to see justice done after having seen it denied for almost three years. I’m tired of suffering traitors, averting my gaze from the obscenity that their acts represent, and generally feeling sorry for the damage that they have visited on this country and the very notions of democracy and human decency.
I want to see justice that sends a message to the next fucking would be cabal, “Try this and American justice will send your sorry asses to the gallows!” We should all be tired of indulging liars, con men, and traitors.
