We’ve seen Mulder four times today. In the morning hours, he appeared on the deck and sauntered off toward the carport. Later, I saw him return and then meander under the deck. Later, mid-afternoon, Susan saw him leaving the lair once again. And later, in the early evening, he came back up on the deck and positioned himself under one of the benches. He remained there a long while, perhaps ten minutes, as I made short videos of his back. In that position, Mulder can peer over the deck’s edge down into an overgrown flowerbed. There are often lizards and other small critters scurrying about on their critter errands.
Momentarily, he lunged into the flowerbed and returned to retire to his lair. I couldn’t identify a prey in his mouth. Perhaps he missed. Perhaps he just inhaled it in a single bite. Perhaps I just didn’t see his victim. Who knows?
