This evening’s dinner was the second of the two strip steaks I bought late last week. I cooked it on the outdoor grill – medium rare. We put together a salad of spring mix, green onions, pepperoncini, and sliced avocado.
I sliced some shiitake mushrooms, sauteed them in a pan with EVOO and butter, and discovered to my horror that we had no bleu cheese crumbles. Merde! I combined some heavy cream and shredded parm and muenster cheeses instead in order to substitute for the bleu. Sigh.
Susan baked an acorn squash with a pat of butter and a drizzle of honey. The outcome was edible.
