Susan prepared escargot for dinner – using Anthony Bourdain’s recipe. I bought us a French baguette, and we cobbled together an eclectic salad from things we had on hand. We had half an avocado, and I decided to see whether the French ate avocado. I was pleased to learn that the European country that is the greatest consumer of avocados is France. I knew there was a reason that I liked the French!
