The skies in Austin were cloudy, but hard-core eclipse watchers were not deterred – Susan and I among them. Below is a sequence of eclipse photos that I took this afternoon. They begin just a few minutes after first contact and proceed up to the moment just prior to totality. Susan got the only photo of totality, and that was with her iPhone. Alas, that’s how these things go sometimes.

Susan caught me at my desktop controlling the astrograph from the comfort of my study. The telescope is in the dome – outside with the mosquitoes.

I slept through the whole thing…oh well, next time.
Great photos. We were cloudy and only at best could get about 15% here. We watched the NASA broadcast and were quite disappointed; lots of people talking from different locations and showing the crowds rather than the sky
Thanks. I too watched the NASA livestream, and was similarly annoyed by the lack of focus on the eclipse itself. Sigh.
Interesting I had NASA up too and the feed I was watching just showed the progression of the eclipse from different locations with some background music
