I have a few former workmates, colleagues, and professors with whom we have been visiting once or twice a year – maybe for dinner, or a bug fest, or for lunch. We get together, talk about events in our lives, our kids, and grandkids. You probably do too.
The COVID apocalypse severed some of those connections – not all of them but more than a few. We have been trying to reestablish those connections now that the worst of the COVID pandemic has subsided. I am fairly confident that there will be other coronavirus pandemics; I just don’t know when or how well prepared we will be.
Today, we had a nice lunch at the North Austin Central Market Cafe with workmates from my time working at the Department of Human Services aka Department of Aging and Disability Services – IT types. We had not seen one another since 2019 before COVID. It was nice to reconnect.
