It was partly cloudy this afternoon despite a forecast calling for clear skies. I managed a good capture of the prominences, filaments, and plages, but my attempts to capture the sunspot activity were not nearly as successful. So it goes, as Kurt Vonnegut would say. Below is the solar disk processed to optimize the surface details.

There were prominences over much of the sun’s rim – some spikey ones along the southwestern limb, smaller ones along the southern limb, and some impressive arcs along the northeastern limb. The last of these is shown in a cameo (cropped frame) below.
