Today’s sky was perfectly clear. The comparison H-alpha solar disk images appear below. The first image shows extensive prominences along the southwestern solar limb, and the second shows at least six named sunspot groups.
In the annotated sunspot cameo below, we see a yet unnamed sunspot group emerging from the sun’s southeastern limb.
The images below showcase the prominences along the solar rim.
