The sky was perfect for a solar photoshoot. Below are today’s comparison solar disk images. The H-alpha image on the left shows many prominences along the solar rim. On the right, the sunspot groups are shown to better advantage.

Below, the prominences are shown below from east, southeast, south polar, southwestern, and northwestern solar limbs.

In the sunspot cameo below, we can see AR3881 disappearing at the western limb, and the remainder of the groups appear more clearly than they did in yesterday’s images.
