Even with partly cloudy skies, one can photograph the sun through the sucker holes (clearings). That’s what I did today. Below is a narrowband H-alpha image that shows the prominences and filaments best.

Below is an annotated image that shows the sunspots. In yesterday’s post, I misidentified the complex group AR3934 as AR3931 and AR3929. The latter two are too faint to see in my image and only barely visible in NASA’s image. I have annotated the group near the sun’s eastern limb as AR3935, but the NASA image does not yet show an Active Region designation for it.

The eastern limb shows the best prominences today though there are also a few in the western and southwestern limbs as well. Some of these are showcased below.
